ST. PAUL, Minn. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, selected Paul Johnson as one of its three Civil Servants of the Year for 2019.
The St. Paul District presents this award annually to the top three or four employees of its nearly 700-person staff. Johnson, with 27 years of service with the federal government and 24 years with the St. Paul District, is a surveying technician at the district’s headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Johnson was nominated for the “Excellence Beyond Expectations” award for his extreme selfless service, his flexibility and mission-first approach and his dedication to doing whatever it takes to meet the organization’s critical missions.
“Mr. Johnson is the ultimate team player who is always willing to travel anywhere at any time, and for any length of time, to respond to emergency situations and/or urgent project needs,” said Gary Wolf, St. Paul District civil, site and surveys section chief and Johnson’s supervisor. “Paul sets a great example for those with whom he works and inspires them to work hard and maintain a positive attitude at all times.”
