249th Engineer Battalion Command Sergeant Major

Command Sergeant Major Anthony Duane Agee entered the military on 22 July 1987 in Clanton, AL. He completed basic training at Ft. Dix, NJ and AIT at Ft. Belvoir, VA, where he trained as a 41B (Topographical Instrument Repair Specialist), and later reclassified to a 62F (Crane Operator) and progressed through the ranks of horizontal construction.

CSM Agee served in leadership positions ranging from Team Leader to Command Sergeant Major. He served in the following units: 519th Maintenance Co, Ft. Ord, CA; 586th Maintenance Co, Stuttgart, Germany; 597th Maintenance Co; 62nd EN Combat BN (HVY), 1-395th Training Support BN (Engineer), all at Ft Hood, TX; 82nd Engineer Co (CSE), 44th EN BN, Camp Edwards, Korea; 92nd EN Combat BN (HVY); Ft. Stewart, GA; HHC MANSCEN, and Engineer Personnel Proponent Office, US Army Engineer School, Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.

Service includes Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm, the Liberation of Kuwait, Operation Joint Guard, Operation Joint Endeavor, and Operations Iraqi Freedom I, III, and V.

His awards include the Bronze Star Medal (2 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (eighth Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Force Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Medal (w/3 Bronze Stars), Iraqi Campaign Medal (w/3 Bronze Stars), Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (with Number 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4th Award), Southwest Asia Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, NATO Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation (3rd Award), Army Superior Unit Award (2nd Award), Combat Action Badge, and the Driver/ Mechanic’s Badge.

CSM Agee graduated from the Air Force Senior NCO Academy (Sergeant Major Academy), CSM Development Program/Pre-Command CSM Course, and the Army’s Force Management School. He completed the Observer Controller Academy at the National Training Center and the Battle Staff NCO Course. He is a recipient of the Bronze de’Fleury Medal and is a member of the Forces Command Sergeant Audie Murphy Club. He also has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Trident University.
