Since then, I've gotten a lot of mileage out of it. The trouble is accidents are no laughing matter and they usually happen when you least expect it.

As the steward of many of these public waters, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reminds visitors of the importance of practicing safe, sensible, and thoughtful activities in and around the water.
  • NR 20-024: Cheatham Lake Right Bank Recreation Area reopens

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 11, 2020) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that the Right Bank Recreation Area Beach at Cheatham Lake in Ashland City, Tennessee, is reopened as water conditions have returned to acceptable levels.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 9, 2020) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces the immediate closure of the Right Bank Recreation Area Beach at Cheatham Lake in Ashland City, Tennessee, due to elevated levels of Escherichia coli (E. Coli.). The area is still open for picnicking and boat launching.

    As part of the phased reopening of recreation facilities following COVID-19 closures, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, announces the reopening of public beaches and most areas within the Raystown Lake Visitors Center, including the information center, interior restrooms and the retail store operated by the Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau, on June 27.
