Kids on the Land: A hands on STEM experience
DALLAS - Teachers are always looking for ways to capture their students' interest and to make the learning process fun and exciting. The "Kids on the Land" (KoL) program has found a way to do just that. They've moved the classroom to the great outdoors and have implemented a hands-on learning experience to teach student's science, math and land management practices.

Far East District, DoD schools sign STEM agreement
SEOUL, Republic of Korea - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of Defense Schools Korea District signed an education partnership agreement at Seoul American High School. The partnership will center on support for the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics initiative, better known as STEM.

ERDC’s Field Research Facility deploys largest wave energy converter in U.S.
DUCK, N.C.--The Engineer Research and Development Center's Field Research Facility in Duck, N.C., recently hosted Resolute Marine Energy for a full-scale test and evaluation of their surge wave energy converter (WEC). Resolute Marine Energy is a Boston, Mass.-based company developing technologies that produce clean energy from ocean waves.

Web conferencing brings Army engineers to DoDDS classroom
WIESBADEN, Germany - A live video stream of eighth-grade physics students displayed on Jason Cade's computer screen. After a quick audio check, Cade, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District project manager and mining engineer, with the assistance of his colleagues, used face-to-face video conferencing to teach a lesson on roller coaster engineering to Wiesbaden Middle School students recently.
