USACE completes emergency repairs at Dardanelle Lock, restores navigation on MKARNS
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, has completed emergency repairs at Dardanelle Lock and Dam, restoring navigation on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System as of 9:09 a.m. Dec. 3, 2025.

MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 25-81 Sailing Instructions NM 9.6 to NM 10.3
Due to shoaling and low White River stages, it is recommended to draft no more than 8 ft from NM 9.6 to NM 10.3. Additionally, it is advised to follow the centerline in this area. This issue is expected to improve as water levels rise in the coming days.

Repairs to the upstream miter gates at Dardanelle Lock (No. 10) NM 205.5, due to an allision as referenced in Navigation Notice SWL 25-74, are nearing completion and the lock is expected to be open to traffic by the end of this week.

Due to increased river elevations, the crest gate dam at Montgomery Point Lock and Dam (NM 0.5) is lowered and the navigation pass is open.

Mariners are advised that the Dardanelle Pool (No. 10) NM 205.5 to NM 292.8 will be operated near the lower limit of the navigation pool, elevation of 336 ft, beginning on November 28th, 2025.

Due to an allision with the upstream miter gates, Dardanelle Lock (No. 10) NM 205.5 is currently closed to traffic. Engineers are onsite assessing the damage.
