  • The Dalles Dam Visitor Center reopens to public May 6

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites guests to visit The Dalles Dam Visitor Center and tour the dam this summer beginning tomorrow. The visitor center will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from May 6 through the end of September. The visitor center will also be open every day from May 30 through Sept. 3. Hours of operation are always 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Undersecretary of the Army visits Savannah District

    SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Undersecretary of the Army Patrick Murphy met with Savannah District leaders to tour significant projects Aug. 11, 2016. Murphy took an aerial tour of the Savannah Harbor as part of his visit to Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia. The Savannah District is responsible for maintaining the Savannah harbor and is in the process of deepening it an additional 5 feet to better accommodate larger, post-Panamax container ships, as part of the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project (SHEP).

Now the public can get a closer look at the dam operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Sutton, W.Va., as tours of the dam will be offered to the public on Sunday, July 26, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    LANCASTER, Tenn. (June 2, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is offering the public free guided tours this summer of the Center Hill Dam Power Plant. Approximately one and a half hours in length, the tours are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18 and Aug. 29.

    GRAND RIVERS, Ky. (May 19, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is offering the public free guided tours of Lake Barkley’s Powerhouse, Lock and Natural Resource Management Office. Approximately two hours in length, tours are scheduled June 20, July 18 and Aug. 15, 2015, with tour start times of 9 a.m. and 11 p.m.
  • NR 15-10: Corps offers tours of Cordell Hull Dam Power Plant and Lock

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 8, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is offering the public free guided tours of Cordell Hull Power Plant and Lock located in Carthage, Tenn. Not all portions of the dam will be accessible to the public due to safety concerns. Approximately 45 minutes in length, tours are scheduled on June 13 and July 11, with the tour beginning at 10 a.m. both days.
