A total of $1,344,000 was awarded on the current River Repairs IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity) Contract to Midwest Construction Company.

  • USACE Vicksburg District resumes collection of recreation area fees

    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District will resume the collection of fees at its recreation sites’ day use areas beginning Oct. 1. Fee collections were suspended earlier this year when recreation areas were closed due to COVID-19 precautions. The USACE Vicksburg District has collected camping fees through online reservations at www.recreation.gov and will continue this system across its projects in Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana.

    Memphis District Commander Col. Zachary Miller had a busy day June 17 kicking off a summer full of visiting several of the district's project sites in our area of responsibility. Encompassing almost 25,000 square miles, the Memphis District is responsible for federal civil works projects in portions of six states - Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee.

  • Biologist working on new solution to test hydrological effects on plant habitat in Southwest

    A Los Angeles District biologist is working to expand the capabilities of modeling software in hopes of creating a better understanding of hydrological effects on plant habitat along rivers in the Southwest. Christopher Solek, Environmental Resources Branch, Planning Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District, is conducting the work as a 2019 participant in the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s outreach program, ERDC University.
