  • The Dewey Short Visitor Center opens for 2024 recreation season

    With Spring in the air, the Dewey Short Visitor Center has opened for the 2024 recreation season. Located near Branson, Missouri, the Dewey Short has been called the "crown jewel" of Table Rock Lake. Three stories tall, with an impressive glass and steel façade facing the lake, the Dewey Short is not only a beautiful building, but also one of the most popular visitors centers in all the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
  • USACE plans prescribed burns

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will conduct prescribed burns on public lands surrounding Table Rock Lake from March 5, 2024, until April 17, 2024.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-20 Lock 7 Intermittent Delays

    Mariners should expect to experience intermittent delays at Murray Lock (No. 7) NM 125.4 beginning March 18 through March 21, 2024, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. daily. The intermittent delays are required to facilitate an underwater dive inspection of the Lock chamber.
  • USACE lifts small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is lifting the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Small craft advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. While flows have receded, USACE officials urge boaters to always exercise caution when on the river.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-16 Lock 2 Opened

    Crews have completed the upgrades to the lock interlock system at Lock No. 2 (NM 13.3), as communicated in Navigation Notice No. SWL 24-02, and the lock is now open to traffic.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-15 Lock 13 Intermittent Delays

    Mariners should expect to experience intermittent delays at James W. Trimble Lock (No. 13) NM 292.8 on February 9, 2024, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The intermittent delays are required to facilitate replacement of hydraulic piping.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-09 Lock 3 Tow Haulage Return to Service

    The tow haulage equipment at Joe Hardin Lock (No. 3) NM 50.2 has been repaired and returned to service.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-07 USCG Advisory Van Buren Railroad Bridge NM 300.8

    Mariners are advised that crews will be conducting rehabilitation work on the Van Buren Railroad Drawbridge (NM 300.8). The work is expected to start on February 7, 2024 and will last approximately 18 days.
  • UPDATE: Temporary full road closure of Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is rescheduling the full road closure for Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam to 7 a.m. Jan. 18 until 5 p.m. Jan. 19, to deploy and remove equipment used to perform maintenance on the dam. The original closure scheduled for Jan. 16-18 is rescheduled because of the weather.
