Army MATOC: First awards under $7 billion renewable energy contract

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, working with the Army Energy Initiatives Task Force, awarded the first of its kind Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Multiple Award Task Order Contracts for the first technology under this contract to support renewable energy on Defense Department installations.

Middle East District Awards Runway Repair at Bagram, Afghanistan

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Middle East District awarded a task order contract for runway repairs at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, on Feb. 11. The 11-month task order was awarded for $19.4 million to Anham-ICSS, a joint venture, from Vienna, Va.

The Army announced a $7 billion Multiple Award Task Contract (MATOC), Request for Proposal (RFP), Aug. 7, 2012, which will help the Army procure reliable, locally generated, renewable and alternative energy through Power Purchase Agreements for up to 30 years.

Representatives from 115 companies attended a pre-proposal conference here Sept. 15 for an upcoming Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) supporting operations in the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) area of responsibility, which includes 20 countries in the Middle East and Central Asia.
