(Aug. 18, 2016) – The repair fleet in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, a mainstay of the Twin Rivers since the 1800s when crews first began opening the region’s waterways to navigation onboard canoes, flatboats and keelboats, is marking the end of an era as people and resources are reorganized into a regional light fleet Oct. 1, 2016.

(Aug. 9, 2016) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is inviting the public to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Barkley Dam during a ceremony 11 a.m. Aug. 20, 2016 at the Spillway Shelter below the dam. The project is named after the late Alben W. Barkley, attorney, county judge, United States senator, and 35th vice president of the United States.
  • Resident engineer’s legacy lives on at Kentucky Lock

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 9, 2016) – The resident engineer for one of the Nashville District’s largest and longest projects, the Kentucky Lock Addition Project, passed away unexpectedly July 27 from natural causes, a shocking loss to the Corps of Engineers, the district, the resident and project office teams, and many, many friends, family, colleagues, and contractors who knew and served with him.
