The Every Kid in a Park initiative will provide all fourth grade students and their families with free admission to more than 2,000 federally-managed sites nationwide for a full year.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $56.3 million design-build contract June 30 to Sundt Construction, Inc. of Tempe, Arizona for a barracks complex at the Presidio of Monterey. The complex will be used primarily to house service members attending the POM's defense language institute in sustainable, modern living spaces comparable to living standards in the private sector. The complex also includes a dining facility and a general administration building.
