  • Shady Creek Campground to reopen June 16

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, announces the Shady Creek Recreation Area campground, located near Muscatine, Iowa, will reopen for reservations starting June 16. Opening of the recreation area was delayed this summer due to infrastructure upgrades within the park. Reservations can be made by visiting https://www.recreation.gov/ or calling 877-444-6777. Percy Priest Lake are known for tooling around campgrounds and recreation areas while repairing and maintaining facilities, often saving the day by unclogging a restroom sink, fixing a leaky water line, or restoring power at a campsite.
  • Tetilla Peak Recreation Area and Campground closed for 2023 recreation season due to infrastructure improvement project

    The entire Tetilla Peak Recreation Area and Campground and the Santa Cruz Day Use Area, including the Santa Cruz Road, are closed to visitors during the 2023 recreation season due to a construction project funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 30, 2023) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is working to remove storm debris from Cages Bend Campground in Gallatin, Tennessee, and Cedar Creek Campground in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, on the shoreline of Old Hickory Lake. Both campgrounds open Saturday, April 1, as scheduled.

    **UPDATE: Dent Acres Campground will be open for the full 2023 season. The repaving project has been rescheduled for 2024. More information will be released when the new dates are finalized.**
  • USACE announces 2023 camping fee increase at Greers Ferry Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will increase camping fees at Greers Ferry Lake beginning Jan. 1. Non-electric sites will increase to $18, electric sites (30/20 amp) $22, electric (50 amp) $24, electric (30/20 amp and water) $26 and electric (50 amp and water) $28. The fees are used to recover a portion of the cost of administering, operating, maintaining and improving the parks.
