  • Public meeting scheduled on Randolph, Nebraska flood risk management feasibility study

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in cooperation with the city of Randolph, will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 5:30-8p.m. at the City Auditorium, 119 North Main Street in Randolph, Nebraska. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an update on a flood risk management study and gather input on the draft feasibility report and integrated environmental assessment. Comments on the draft report must be received or postmarked by October 12, 2016.

  • Corps to conduct traffic control operations at Folsom Point recreation area

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District and its contractor Kiewit Infrastructure will conduct traffic control operations September 5-23 as part of the Folsom Dam auxiliary spillway construction project, forcing a detour and temporary delays inside the Folsom Point recreation area.

  • District launches Houston area flood risk data online tool

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 1, 2016) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District launched a web-based tool today, called the Metropolitan Houston Regional Watershed and Waterway Flood Risk Management Systems Performance Evaluation, to inform users about local flooding events and provide updates regarding the district’s flood risk management system capabilities.

  • Stakeholders, customers see Corps Civil Works projects on river trip

    Stakeholders, customers and elected officials were guests of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District for the annual Missouri River Tour Aug. 16. The purpose of the trip aboard the district’s barge is to provide a first-hand look at the Civil Works projects the district builds and maintains along the Missouri River and to receive questions and comments from stakeholders.

    Construction to implement flood risk management improvements to Natomas Basin levees is one step closer to reality after leaders from the Department of the Army, State of California and the Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency signed a project partnership agreement August 18.
