    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 19, 2020) – In the interest of public safety, and in accordance with Center for Disease Control recommendations, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is taking the following precautionary measures to assist public health efforts  to contain the spread of COVID-19.

  • Workshop networking for resource efficiency managers key for Huntsville Center energy program success

    The Army’s fifth Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) Workshop connected its more than 25 attendees with skills necessary to ensure the Army’s resource specialists can achieve federal energy reduction mandates.
  • USACE Buffalo District substantially completes Stanford Run ecosystem restoration project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District (USACE) substantially completed the Stanford Run ecosystem restoration project located within the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) in Summit County, Ohio, in early January 2020. The Buffalo District restored nearly 1,200 feet of a small stream within CVNP named Stanford Run under the original Stanford Run Restoration Project contract awarded to Ryba Marine Construction Co. The District also awarded a second, follow-on contract to Armitage Architecture, P.C. at the end of September 2019 to continue restoration on the channel, which restored an additional 1,000 lineal feet.

    COLUMBIA & SNAKE RIVERS, Ore. & Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Portland and Walla Walla districts will close all Corps navigation locks on the Columbia and Snake rivers March 7 at 6 a. m. for regularly scheduled annual inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs.

  • Mississippi River Headwaters reservoirs winter drawdown update

    ST. PAUL, Minn. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, continues to lower water elevations within its six Mississippi River Headwaters reservoirs in anticipation of spring snow melt.
  • Corps extends Winona-area draft dredged material plan comment period

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is extending its draft Environmental Assessment, or EA, for the proposed dredged material management plan in Pool 6, near Winona, Minnesota. Comments will now be accepted through April 10. The previous deadline was March 9.
