    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District teamed with Bass Pro Shops in Southern California to handout materials emphasizing water and boating safety during Bass Pro Shops “Family Summer Camp” campaign from June 8 to July 14. The effort stemmed from the Corps and Bass Pro Shops signing a partnership agreement in late 2012 to develop projects nationally to improve fish habitat and water and boater safety education.

    Their dorsal spines and zebra-like bodies may draw one in for a closer look. Commonly used in aquariums for show, the invasive lionfish has made its way from the South Pacific and Indian Oceans to the east coast. In the past decade, they’ve been rapidly expanding from Florida to North Carolina, as well as the Caribbean.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 9, 2013) – Lt. Col. John L. Hudson took command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District during a change of command ceremony today at the Tennessee National Guard Armory. He becomes the 63rd commander in the district’s 125th anniversary year.
