  • Grand Opening Set for Pomme de Terre Archery Range

    HERMITAGE, Mo.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Pomme de Terre Lake invite the public to the grand opening of the new archery range on Saturday, April 2, 2016 starting at 10 a.m. At this event Corps staff will engage with the community, host contests and award prizes. The range is handicap accessible and provides six public shooting lanes. The first four lanes have targets located at 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards. The following two lanes have targets placed at 10 and 15 meters for schools that participate in the National Archery in the Schools Program. The range is free to the public and available on a first come, first served basis. Posted safety rules apply. The archery range is located in Hermitage, Mo. on County Road 218, just past the Pomme de Terre Lake Project Office. For additional information contact the project office at 417-745-6411.

    CINCINNATI - Dam Safety is a crucial mission of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and in particular, the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division – the Division I currently Command. I have heard the concerns from the public about the proposed quarry on non-federal property adjacent to Old Hickory Dam. I want to assure everyone that my Corps dam safety professionals have thoroughly evaluated the quarry’s proposal to ensure that Old Hickory Dam will not be harmed. I am neither for, nor against the quarry – I am only for the safety of Old Hickory and the safety of the public affected by Old Hickory.
