  • ERDC announces dates for 2022 GEMS Camps

    The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) will host the Gains in Education of Math and Science (GEMS) this summer in Vicksburg, Miss. GEMS, which is sponsored by Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP), exposes 6th – 12th grade students to various aspects of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and encourages them to explore STEM careers.
  • Contract awarded for site preparation for the West Shore Lake Pontchartrain project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, recently awarded a contract for site preparation on a 1.1-mile segment of the West Shore Lake Pontchartrain (WSLP) Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction project. This contract will support the construction of about 17.5 miles of levees that will provide 100-year level risk reduction to the area extending from Bonnet Carrė Spillway to Garyville, La.

  • USACE seeks volunteers for cleanup at Millwood Lake

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Millwood Lake Project Office will host a shoreline cleanup as part of the Great American Cleanup, on May 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cleanup will be held in cooperation with Millwood Lake State Park.
