  • JBLE Langley to conduct annual mosquito spraying mission

    The 757th Airlift Squadron assigned to Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, will conduct an aerial mosquito spray over Langley Air Force Base, Craney Island and the Churchland section of Portsmouth overnight Wednesday, July 26, 2023. In the event of weather or mechanical delays, the mission will take place on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Although no insecticide applications will occur outside the target areas of Langley Air Force Base and Craney Island/Churchland, the Pest Management department recommends that beekeepers adjacent to these areas cover their hives in the evening to help prevent any loss of bees.

PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will celebrate the completion of the Sandy Lake Dam rehabilitation project with a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony on Aug. 2 at the Sandy Lake Recreation Area at 1 p.m. The recreation area is located at 22205 531st Lane, McGregor, Minnesota.
  • Morganza to the Gulf Environmental Justice Outreach Meeting

    The Environmental Justice Outreach Team for the Morganza to the Gulf of Mexico Project held an Environmental Justice Outreach Meeting on Wednesday, July 19th at the Terrebonne Folklife Museum in Houma, LA. This Environmental Justice Outreach effort was led by RPEDS Environmental Justice Specialists Andrew Perez and Quanita Kendrick, with some presentation by District Tribal Liaison Brian Ostahowski.
  • Bluebird Boxes

    Kids at Lower Twin Campground built their own bluebird boxes and they did an excellent job!!!! This was a learning opportunity that continues when they hang their boxes and get to watch birds move in.   • Annual Maintenance Bulkhead Exercise

    While conducting the annual maintenance bulkhead exercise, access across Sutton Dam to the Jerimiah Carpenter hiking trail was closed. This important exercise enables staff the opportunity to maintain a state of readiness and to test the various pieces of equipment and steps required to complete the process.
