    PHILADELPHIA, PA (SEPT. 5, 2018) – The U.S. Army Corps Engineers Philadelphia District announced it will draw down the reservoirs at Blue Marsh Lake and Francis E.   • Corps begins final step to complete fish passage in the McKenzie River Watershed

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Cougar Dam sits astride the South Fork of the McKenzie River, approximately 50 miles southeast of Eugene, Oregon. The dam has been blocking fish passage in the river since the Corps built it in the 1960s. Salmon numbers have plummeted in this watershed and, as a result, the Corps has worked to help by improve water temperatures and supply adult fish passage upstream of the dam. However, these actions haven’t addressed moving juvenile fish downstream of the dam – until now.

    DALLAS—Col. Kevin S. Brown became the Deputy Commander of the Southwestern Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, on Aug. 13, 2018. Prior to this assignment, he was the Assistant Commandant of the U.S. Army Engineer School in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

  • USACE RESCHEDULES MOBILE HARBOR PUBLIC MEETING

    MOBILE, Ala. – Due to Tropical Storm Gordon, the public meeting concerning the Mobile Harbor Draft General Reevaluation Report with Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (Draft GRR/SEIS) previously scheduled for Sept. 6, 2018 has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Mobile Convention Center, located at 1 South Water Street in downtown Mobile.

  • ROAD CLOSURE ACROSS BEAVER DAM

    ROGERS, Ark. – Work on Beaver Dam in Carroll County is scheduled to resume on Sept. 18. A section of Arkansas Highway 187 that crosses Beaver Dam is scheduled to be closed for two weeks while crews work on the dam’s intake gate rehab project.
