Ms. Brenda M. Johnson-Turner was appointed as the Director of Real Estate and the Chief, South Pacific Division and Great Lakes and Ohio River Division Regional Integration Team for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on November 16, 2014. Ms. Johnson-Turner is one of the newest members of the Federal Government’s Senior Executive Service, a corps of executives responsible for influencing the direction of innovation and transformation of the federal government and leading the next generation of public servants.
Ms. Johnson-Turner is responsible for program execution, overall policy, and ensuring technical expertise to provide real estate acquisition, management, and disposal through the eight regional centers and thirty-two district offices for Army controlled land and improvements world-wide. The real estate mission is executed by approximately 1,000 real estate professionals who oversee 24 million acres of Army controlled land, with annual expenditures of approximately $1 billion. As the Chief of the South Pacific Division and Great Lakes and Ohio River Division Regional Integration Team, Ms. Johnson-Turner manages the Washington level representation and support through integrating product and service mission areas, and establishing and maintaining relationships at a national level for military and other program areas with projects exceeding $700 million annually.
Ms. Johnson-Turner’s career spans 15 years of civilian leadership and management experience. She served most recently as the Deputy Director for Real Estate, in the Headquarters. Additionally, Ms. Johnson-Turner provided the interim senior leadership within Headquarters as Acting Director of Real Estate, from March 2014 to October 2014.
Ms. Johnson-Turner received her BS in business administration from Alcorn State University and has earned several certificates, to include the Facilities Engineer Level III. She is also a member of the International Right of Way Association.
