    The period of performance for this MATOC is five years and will be used to continue the execution of mission assignments at sites located outside the United States and outlying areas.

    As the director of the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville’s Environmental and Munitions Center of Expertise, Sandi Zebrowski led more than 60 Corps employees in providing high quality engineering and scientific support to environmental remediation, munitions response and compliance programs around the world.
  • Public Notice: Open house for the former Nebraska Ordnance Plant

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, will host an Open House on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 4:30 p.m.–7:00 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Country Club in Yutan, Neb. The VFW Country Club is located south of Highway 92 at 1581 Yutan Road. The public is invited. Project personnel will be available to provide and interpret water sampling results and other site data. To learn more about the former Nebraska Ordnance Plant, please plan on attending our Open House. There will be a brief informational presentation on the 2017 Containment Evaluation at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
  • Department of Defense Memorandum of Agreement Program fosters collaboration

    The Environmental and Munitions Center of Expertise, U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville has a program available to keep this process as streamlined and focused as possible: a virtual team comprised of representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers serves as liaison between states and components.
  • Technology ‘Fingerprints’ Unexploded Ordnance

    In September, Albuquerque District Project Manager Trent Simpler and Geologist Mark Phaneuf joined a team from U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, Ala., to collect bomb data at two Florida museums. Huntsville Center is capturing and cataloging what may best be described as the fingerprints of munitions items, such as bombs, mortars, artillery projectiles and fuzes, in an effort to improve how work is done at Formerly Used Defense Sites. The Center’s Environmental and Munitions Center of Expertise (EM CX) has begun to put together a library of ordnance signatures.
