  • The Dalles Dam Visitor Center hosts 13th annual Eagle Watch

    The eagles have landed! Join Portland District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) park rangers at The Dalles Dam Visitor Center Jan. 21, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., to catch a glimpse of bald eagles that congregate near the dam every winter in search of food.

    Abiquiu Lake will be hosting their annual midwinter eagle survey on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023. The event will run from 9 am until noon, with registration beginning at 9 am. The event is free and all are welcome to participate!

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rivers Project Office, is partnering with the City of Clarksville to bring additional experiences to their annual Clarksville Eagle Days. Throughout the two-day event, USACE Park Rangers will offer free public tours of Lock and Dam 24, which is not typically open for public touring.
  • Be free as a bird during 12th annual Eagle Watch

    Take someone under your wing and bring them out to the 12th annual Eagle Watch at The Dalles Dam Visitor Center, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, January 21st, 22nd, 28th and 29th. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) is eager to host Eagle Watch in-person, as last year’s event was virtual.

  • Three eagles counted during annual eagle watch at Abiquiu Lake

    The annual Abiquiu Lake Eagle Watch, Jan. 4, 2020, was considered by rangers to be a successful event, with 66 volunteers assisting from three stationary positions on shore and two boats on the lake.

  • Eagle Day at Stockton Lake Jan. 12 - Corps lake in southwest Missouri

    The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Stockton Lake near Stockton, Mo. will host an Eagle Day with partners on Jan. 12, 2019. At the beginning of each year, the Stockton Lake Association, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, and the Missouri Department of Conservation combine forces to bring the community a spectacle of nature’s beauty known as Eagle Day. The 25th annual Eagle Day will be held on January 12th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
  • Record number of volunteers turn out to count eagles

    USACE staff at Abiquiu Lake hosted their annual Midwinter Bald Eagle Watch, Jan. 6, 2018. A record-breaking 151 volunteers turned out to participate in the nationwide survey that counts eagles along standard, non-overlapping survey routes.
