    OLD HICKORY, Tenn. (July 22, 2013) – There are two more chances this recreation season for the public to tour Old Hickory Lock and Dam. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District invites people of all ages to come out to the lake to tour the structures during the final two open house tours scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 10 and 31 beginning at 11 a.m. Guided tours of the structure are free to the public and approximately 60 minutes in length.

    SMITH, Ky. (July 15, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is offering public tours of Martins Fork Dam here Saturday, July 27 and Aug. 17, 2013. Visitors can choose from a 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. tour time. Guided tours of the structure are free to the public and are approximately 45 minutes in length.

(July 1, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Old Hickory Lake invites the public to take a closer look at the 61-year-old Old Hickory Lock and Dam structure during open house tours scheduled for Saturday July 20 beginning at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Guided tours of the structure are free to the public and approximately 60 minutes in length.

    OLD HICKORY, Tenn. (June 4, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District at Old Hickory Lake is now accepting registration applications for the Saturday, June 29 open house tours beginning at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. at Old Hickory Lock and Dam. Free to the public and approximately 60 minutes in length, the guided tours will allow guests to have an up close view of Old Hickory Lake’s Navigation Lock and Powerhouse facilities.

    A group of second graders from Cortez Elementary, a math and science magnet school in Pomona, Calif., toured Prado Dam as part of a larger effort to spark the interest of students in science, technology, engineering, and math May 16.
  • NR 13-016: Cheatham Lake opens up powerhouse for public tours

    CHARLOTTE, Tenn. (May 10, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is offering the public free guided tours of Cheatham Lake’s Powerhouse. Approximately 45 minutes in length, tours are scheduled for May 25, June 22, July 13, Aug. 17, and Sept. 7. The tour start times are 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

    OLD HICKORY, Tenn. (Aug. 9, 2012) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is offering the public free guided tours of the Old Hickory Navigation Lock. These are the first public tours of the lock since visitation was restricted after Sept. 11, 2001.
  • Center Hill Lake open house, power plant tours draw young, elderly visitors

    LANCASTER, Tenn. (July 21, 2012) – The first tours of the Center Hill Lake Power Plant since Sept. 11, 2001 drew the young and the elderly here today. Visitors ranged from an 83-year-old gentleman who worked on construction of the dam to a nine-year-old boy whose late great-grandfather’s property was reduced by approximately 100 acres, but who also worked on construction of the dam.
  • NR 12-026: Corps offers more Cheatham Dam Power Plant tours

    CHARLOTTE, Tenn. (July 6, 2012) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District recently resumed offering public tours of the Cheatham Dam Power Plant and more tours are scheduled July 21, Aug. 18 and Sep. 8, 2012 with tours beginning at noon, 1 and 2 p.m. Public access to these Corps facilities was restricted after September 11, 2001.
