Army Corps Announces Administrative Fee Changes

Beginning January 1, 2020, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, South Atlantic Division, will implement a revised administrative fee schedule resulting in a total cost of $835 for a dock and land based facilities at its reservoirs and along certain federal waterways in the Southeastern United States.

Last phase of outer harbor deepening begins; SHEP moves farther

SAVANNAH, Ga. – A massive dredging effort began Dec. 1 to push through the final phase of the outer channel deepening for the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project, commonly called SHEP. Up to five hopper dredges have been committed to the effort, each working 24-hour shifts to complete the deepening of the channel and the 7-mile seaward extension of the SHEP during the current environmental window which will close in the spring.

Undersecretary of the Army visits Savannah District

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Undersecretary of the Army Patrick Murphy met with Savannah District leaders to tour significant projects Aug. 11, 2016. Murphy took an aerial tour of the Savannah Harbor as part of his visit to Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia. The Savannah District is responsible for maintaining the Savannah harbor and is in the process of deepening it an additional 5 feet to better accommodate larger, post-Panamax container ships, as part of the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project (SHEP).
