    Park rangers and staff at Berlin Lake want to encourage more bird enthusiasts to visit the reservoir. Berlin Lake is located along the Atlantic Flyway path, considered a migration highway, making the reservoir a hotspot for birds during migration.
  • Corps to begin deep drawdowns at Green Peter, Lookout Point

    Beginning in June, the Portland District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin to gradually drawdown Lookout Point and Green Peter reservoirs to historically low levels. The goal of these reservoir “drawdowns,” which are part of an injunction ordered by the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, is to increase juvenile spring Chinook and steelhead survival and passage through the reservoirs and past the dams.

    AHSAHKA, Idaho –Dworshak Dam will be increasing releases starting March 27 from 1,700 cubic feet per second to approximately 4,000 to 6,000 cfs over a two-day period. Operations at Dworshak will change the height of the Clearwater River downstream of the dam by approximately 1.5 feet, over the two-day period.
