  • Small business office to host monthly matchmaking events

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will host a small business matchmaking event on the second Wednesday of every month. Matchmaking sessions will be scheduled on the half hour from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. CST. To schedule a time slot, send a request and capabilities statement to sbo-mvp@usace.army.mil by the close of business on the Friday before the requested date.
  • Hollowell named Nashville District Employee of the Month for July 2021

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 13, 2021) – Tommy Hollowell, quality assurance field lead in the Western Kentucky Resident Office, is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Employee of the Month for July 2021. He is recognized primarily for his efforts to control cost and time growth for the construction of the new Kentucky Lock on the Tennessee River in Grand Rivers, Kentucky.
  • Booth becomes 61st commander of Jacksonville District

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – (Sept. 9, 2021) – U.S. Army Col. James L. Booth took command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District today during a change of command ceremony at the at the Terry Theater, Times Union Center, Jacksonville. He becomes the 61st commander of the district.
  • NR 21-31: Corps of Engineers soliciting proposals for development of Cook Recreation Area at J. Percy Priest Lake

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 9, 2021) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is soliciting proposals for operation and maintenance of multipurpose recreational facilities, which include a campground and related facilities and services at the Cook Recreation Area on J. Percy Priest Lake in Hermitage, Tennessee. Proposals will be accepted through Jan. 10, 2022.
  • Corps supports FEMA debris mission in Tennessee

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 9, 2021) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is supporting a FEMA debris mission in Tennessee in the wake of devastating flash flooding when up to 17 inches of rain fell Aug. 21 in rural areas of Dickson, Hickman, Houston, and Humphreys counties.
  • District attorney selected for national award

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers headquarters, in Washington D.C., recently selected St. Paul District deputy district counsel and St. Paul, Minnesota resident, Vinai Vinlander as the recipient of the Joseph W. Kimbel award. The award recognizes the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers attorney who demonstrates the highest professional potential for future legal achievement.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and City of Independence to sign agreement for flood damage reduction project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Buffalo District, City of Independence Mayor Gregory P. Kurtz, and the Independence Continuing Authorities Program 205 project team will sign a Project Partnership Agreement (PPA) for a flood damage reduction project on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. at 7900 Old Rockside Rd, Independence, OH 44131 (see map on following page). The $8 million project will reduce the risk of damage from continual overbank flooding along the Cuyahoga River and protect vulnerable residential and business properties in the City of Independence.
  • Corps continues to monitor its Red River of the North reservoirs

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is closely monitoring water levels at its Red River of the North reservoirs. Below average precipitation and drought conditions continue to impact reservoir levels and discharges. All locations are releasing the minimum flow or near the minimum flow.
