    CELINA, Tenn. (Oct. 19, 2018) – As a heavy fog lifted over Dale Hollow Dam and Reservoir during the 75th Anniversary Commemoration this morning, members of the community and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials brought into clear focus how communities, homes and farmlands were given up in the early 1940s to make way for the reservoir, and more than a thousand men worked day and night to construct the dam. A few even lost their lives supporting an expedited construction program.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District’s Sandy Lake Visitor’s Center has a new look. The district’s history committee recently completed a renovation there that included the tearing down of older displays, the research and design of new panels and the building and installation of new display cases and panels. The new look was unveiled at a ribbon cutting ceremony Aug. 17.

    CARTHAGE, Tenn. (July 16, 2012) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is hosting a dedication ceremony for the newly constructed Cordell Hull Lake Resource Manager’s Office 9 a.m. Friday, July 20. The new facility replaces the previous building destroyed in a fire Sept. 26, 2008. The public and media are invited to the 9 a.m. dedication and an open house following the ceremony from 10 a.m. to noon.
