Army Corps begins Post-Sandy restoration work on Rockaway Beach

Representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District and New York City announced the beginning of sand replenishment efforts at Rockaway Beach. Crews are busy placing millions of cubic yards of sand as part of the Corps efforts to repair and restore the Rockaway coastline which was severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Traditionally “Take Your Child to Work Day” is a time for employees to bring their children with them to the office to see what mommy and daddy do all day. Instead of just accompanying their parents to work New York District planned an outstanding day of fun learning activities. District volunteers, representative of various divisions planned a program showcasing the many career fields within USACE.
