Corps of Engineers starts another Lake Okeechobee release to benefit Caloosahatchee Estuary
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District will continue water releases from Lake Okeechobee to the Caloosahatchee Estuary to help improve estuarine conditions, which have declined in recent months due to the lack of sufficient freshwater.

Trail access near Mill Creek Dam temporarily closes to accommodate diversion dike work
WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Portions of the Mill Creek Trail near Rooks Park and the Mill Creek Dam will be temporarily closed to visitors starting today through early April, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials.

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – If your upcoming holiday weekend plans include a road trip to visit family and friends on the opposite side of the lower Snake River, you may want to keep in mind that U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dams will be closed to cross-dam public vehicle traffic on federal holidays.

Eastman Lake temporarily closes trail to protect nesting bald eagles
The Lakeview Trail at Eastman Lake has been closed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District and will remain closed until Aug. 14 to protect a pair of nesting bald eagles. Park rangers have posted closure signs on the trail at the Raymond Bridge and Codorniz Recreation Area trailheads.
