Small business receives last contract for geothermal technology under MATOC
The MATOC involves third-party financed renewable energy acquisitions and involves no Army capital or Military Construction appropriation. The Army only purchases the power from contractors who own, operate or maintain the generating assets.

Corps of Engineers extends comment period and schedules public meeting for Jacksonville Harbor Deepening Study
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District announced today that the comment period for the draft report regarding the Jacksonville Harbor Deepening Study has been extended to October 24, 2013. A public meeting will be held Tuesday, September 24th at the JAXPORT Cruise Terminal, to discuss recently updated information for the Jacksonville Harbor Deepening Study.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CLEANUP
Russellville, Ark. – The Russellville Project Office is looking for volunteers to join in and help clean up Lake Dardanelle in support of National Public Lands Day. Volunteers should check-in by 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at either Bona Dea Trailhead or Lake Dardanelle State Park on the Russellville side. Once in the parks follow the signs to the check-in location.

Army Corps of Engineers waives fees on National Public Lands Day, Sept. 28
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will waive day use fees at its more than 2,400 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide in recognition of National Public Lands Day on Sept. 28. On this day, fees normally charged at boat launch ramps and swimming beaches will be waived. Locations in Florida include W.P. Franklin, Ortona and St. Lucie recreation areas.

The area along Jordan Creek is heavily urbanized and includes extensive infrastructure associated with both commercial and industrial areas. A wide variety of management measures to address the flood risk were developed, evaluated and screened.

Three Rivers Study, Southeast Arkansas
A “new start” and funding of $100,000 is needed to complete a 905(b) reconnaissance study of the water resource problems in south-east Arkansas where the Arkansas, Mississippi, and White Rivers converge. The study will determine potential solutions, scope, further federal participation, and identify nonfederal sponsors to provide a comprehensive watershed analysis of basin conditions and alternatives. The study is authorized by Section 216 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1970.
