ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA.   Through the Natural Resources Management (NRM) support team, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Institute for Water Resources (IWR) with the Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Environmental Lab have implemented new interactive Web tools to support USACE’s recreation areas in response to COVID-19 Pandemic.

New field data reporting tools to support information sharing on closures and re-openings of more than 2,800 USACE managed recreation areas across the Nation have been implemented. This information supports the Corps Lakes Gateway and allows users to query the status of projects with recreation areas by state. This website can be accessed at https://corpslakes.erdc.dren.mil/visitors/visitors.cfm.

In addition, the NRM support team has worked with USACE’s Common Operating Picture (UCOP) Team to create and maintain an interactive web service dashboard that provides up-to-date geospatial information on recreation areas nationwide.   The dashboard can be accessed at https://arcportal-ucop-corps.usace.army.mil/s0portal/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/8de2c0fb568e485d98cacf4600d84357
