Chaplain (Colonel) Bradford A. Baumann is currently the Command Chaplain, Headquarters, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Prior to his arrival, he completed a fellowship in lieu of the Army War College at the University of Texas, Austin.

Chaplain Baumann is a native of Olivia, Minnesota. In 1997, he graduated from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS) and received his direct commission as an Army Chaplain in 1998.

His previous assignments include: 1-10 Aviation Battalion (including a deployment to Bosnia - SFOR-6); 2-14 Infantry Battalion and 3-17 Air Cavalry Squadron Chaplain, Fort Drum, NY; 3d Ranger Battalion Chaplain, FT Benning, GA (including three tours to Afghanistan and two tours to Iraq – Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom; The U.S. Army Garrison Deputy Chaplain, Hohenfels, Germany; The Executive Officer for the Office of the Chaplain, U.S. Army Europe Heidelberg, Germany (including a deployment to Romania and Bulgaria – Joint Task Force East; The 325th Falcon Brigade Chaplain, FT Bragg, NC (including a deployment to Haiti – Operation Restore Hope; U.S. Army Special Forces Command Deputy Chaplain, FT Bragg, NC; Executive Officer for the Office of the Chief of Chaplains, Pentagon, Washington, DC; The 82nd Airborne Division Chaplain, FT Bragg, NC (including a deployment to Iraq – Operation Inherent Resolve), and the Senior OC/T Chaplain at the Mission Command Training Program, FT Leavenworth, KS.

Chaplain Baumann earned his Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Theology from North Central University, Minneapolis, MN in 1994, and a Masters of Divinity from AGTS, Springfield, MO in 1997. He is also a graduate of Air Assault School (’98), Airborne School (’01), Ranger School (’02), the Chaplain Office Basic Course (’98), the Chaplain Captain Career Course (’05), the Command General Staff College (’11), and the Army War College (’19).

Chaplain Baumann’s military awards include the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the Armed Forces Humanitarian Service Medal, and the NATO Medal.
