  • Carlyle Lake Increasing Downstream Releases and Pool Elevation Update

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake will begin increasing water releases from the main dam on Friday, April 11, 2025. Releases will strategically be raised from 5,000 cubic feet of water per second (cfs) to about 10,000 cfs by Sunday, April 13, 2025. Increasing water releases will lower the pool elevation of Carlyle Lake, creating more capacity to store water from future rainfall events.

    CELINA, Tenn. (Aug. 21, 2024) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Moody Recreation Area, to include its boat ramp on the Obey River below Dale Hollow Dam, is temporarily closing Sept. 9, 2024, for improvements.
  • Nisqually John Landing Boat Dock to be inaccessible during gangway repairs

    CLARKSTON, Wash. – The Nisqually John Landing boat dock will be inaccessible from land starting Monday, July 29, while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District performs essential repairs to the gangway. Repairs are expected to be completed by Thursday, Aug. 1.
  • Additional boat ramp to close at Saylorville Lake

    Due to rising water levels at Saylorville Lake, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District will be closing the Cherry Glen High Water Boat Ramp at 10 p.m. today. Ongoing closures remain in place at Cherry Glen Lower Boat Ramp, the lower parking lot at Lakeview High Water Boat Ramp, Oak Grove Beach Access, Sandpiper Boat Ramp, NW Jester Park Drive, and Lakeview Main Boat Ramp. These closures will remain in effect until lake levels recede, and the areas can be cleaned and safely reopened.
  • Construction to begin at Mill Creek June 10

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District will begin construction projects at Mill Creek, June 10, to improve habitat conditions for endangered salmonids and improve flood risk management operations, while also replacing the boat ramp for public use at Bennington Lake.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 22, 2024) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is pleased to announce the full restoration and reopening of the Rockland Recreation Area launch ramp at Old Hickory Lake, marking a significant milestone in recovery efforts following the closure caused by an EF3 tornado Dec. 9, 2023.

  • Stockton Lake officials to temporarily limit access to Hawker Point campground and boat ramp

    Officials will be closing the boat ramp and encouraging the public to limit access at the Hawker Point campground from March 18 to March 29, 2024. The boat ramp will be closed while lake staff and the Missouri Department of Conservation complete their annual fish habitat project. The campground will remain open, but Stockton Lake staff are encouraging the public to reduce road traffic at the campground while the project is ongoing.
