WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Little Goose Dam’s navigation lock returned to summer-schedule service at 4:30 p.m. yesterday after repairs to the downstream gate controls were completed. Little Goose Lock & Dam is located at river mile 70.3.

New pilings at Canaveral Lock a win-win
The new pilings being driven into place at the Canaveral Lock are a win-win. Not only are they more environmentally friendly than traditional pilings, but they are expected to last longer and save money in the end.

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, locked the last tow of the season for the St. Paul, Minn., area today, Nov. 20, because ice conditions on the Mississippi River are becoming difficult for vessels to navigate.

Great Bridge Locks closed due to tidal waters
The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers closed the Great Bridge Lock in Chesapeake, Va., due to higher than normal tidal waters infiltrating the lock’s gears.
