    NASHVILLE, TENN., (July 2, 2015) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District supports marina operators and owners who are voluntarily striving to protect the water resources of the Cumberland River Basin by going “clean and green” such as Sunset Marina in Monroe, Tenn. The Corps, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Cumberland River Compact, and Sunset Marina celebrated June 22, 2015 as the marina received their recertification and a new flag to designate them as a “Clean Marina.”

  • Corps prepares future engineering students at Summer Engineering Program

(June 26, 2015) –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District collaborated with the Tennessee State University College of Engineering, Technology and Computer Science Department to mentor science, technology, engineering and math students involved in a four-week National Summer Transportation Institute program on the campus of TSU June 22 through July 3.

  • NR 15-022: Corps rolls out guidance on floating cabins at lakes in the Cumberland River Basin

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 17, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has issued new guidance on floating cabins at its lakes throughout the Cumberland River Basin. The guidance implements Section 1035 of the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) of 2014 that allows floating cabins at marinas on Cumberland River Basin lakes.

  • Murphy becomes 64th commander of Nashville District

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 16, 2015) – Lt. Col. Stephen F. Murphy took command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District during a change of command ceremony today at the Tennessee National Guard Armory. He becomes the 64th commander in the district’s 127 year history.
