    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 21, 2012) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is launching a new public web site today. Although the site features an updated appearance, the Universal Resource Locator, or web address, remains www.lrn.usace.army.mil. The official switch will occur at noon central standard time, but it may take anywhere up to 24 hours for it to populate on servers for worldwide viewing.

    Nashville, Tenn. (Dec. 17, 2012) – Hurricane Sandy did not have an effect on Music City, but several Nashville District employees did tune into the immediate call for assistance on the east coast and volunteered to deploy and assist with the recovery effort.

  • NR 12-046: Nashville District announces plans to tighten restrictions around Corps Dams

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is finalizing plans to implement 24/7 restricted waterborne access to hazardous waters immediately upstream and downstream of all Corps-owned locks and dams, flood control dams and multipurpose dams on the Cumberland River and its adjoining tributaries. This action moves the Nashville District into full compliance with Corps regulations.

  • Cheatham Lock scheduled to reopen after major maintenance repairs

    ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 15, 2012) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is scheduled to reopen Cheatham Lock 6 p.m., today following a one-month closure for major maintenance repairs to hydraulic and mechanical equipment damaged during the 2010 flood along with other routine maintenance.
