  • USACE announces high-flow release from Warm Springs Dam at Lake Sonoma

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers San Francisco District (USACE) is projected to begin a series of high-flow releases from Warm Springs Dam at Lake Sonoma starting mid-morning Wednesday, March 15, in response to reservoir levels and improving downstream conditions on the Russian River. An increase in releases at Coyote Valley Dam at Lake Mendocino is also expected to occur Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning.

    Geyserville, CA. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lake Sonoma is pleased to announce the re-opening of the Milt Brandt Visitor Center to the public on Friday, May 20th. The Don Clausen Fish Hatchery and viewing bridge will remain closed until further notice.

    LAKE SONOMA, Calif. – Led by South Pacific Division Commander Brig. Gen. Mark Toy, leaders from across the region held three days of discussion last week on a range of division operations at the San Francisco District’s Lake Sonoma -- everything from enhancing communications and team building to viewing the effects of a drought now in its fourth year and its impact on Corps environmental and fish habitat restoration projects.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ trail designated as a National Recreation Trail

    The North Slope Trail at Lake Sonoma, in Healdsburg, California, has been designated a national recreation trail by the U.S. Department of the Interior. The trail is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District and is among 21 trails nationwide designated this year as new national recreation trails.

    As of Sunday, Oct. 6, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers closed public access to all parks and recreation facilities it operates in California as a result of the federal government shutdown. All Dam operations and other mission-critical safety and security functions will continue during the shutdown.
