    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District will resume the collection of fees at its recreation sites’ day use areas beginning Oct. 1. Fee collections were suspended earlier this year when recreation areas were closed due to COVID-19 precautions. The USACE Vicksburg District has collected camping fees through online reservations at www.recreation.gov and will continue this system across its projects in Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana.
  • Vicksburg District reopens Bryant Campground at Grenada Lake

    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District has reopened Bryant Campground at Grenada Lake in north Mississippi. The campground was closed earlier this year because of high water levels in its vicinity. Located on the north side of Grenada Lake and accessible from Mississippi Highway 7, Bryant Campground offers four campsites with electrical and water hookups for RVs. Reservations and payments for sites at Bryant Campground must be made in advance online at Recreation.gov.   • Vicksburg District to continue online reservation system into winter at Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana campgrounds

    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District will continue to use the online reservation system Oct. 1 through Feb. 28, 2021 for campgrounds at its projects in Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.
  • Vicksburg District reminds recreation site visitors to take precautions for a safe Fourth of July weekend

    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District reminds recreation site visitors across Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana to practice safety throughout the Fourth of July weekend. Recreation sites across the region will host special events during the holiday weekend. In Arkansas, fireworks shows will be held at Lake Ouachita July 3 and 4 and Lake Greeson July 3. In Mississippi, a fireworks show will be held at Sardis Lake July 4.
  • Big Bend campgrounds opening Thursday

    Campgrounds and boat ramps operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Big Bend Project, South Dakota, will open Thursday after being closed to protect against the further spread of COVID-19; this will include Left Tailrace Campground.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) officials at Libby Dam will open Blackwell Flats and Dunn Creek Flats Campgrounds Friday afternoon, May 22, 2020, in time for Memorial Day weekend. While the campgrounds, boat ramps and day-use areas are open, the Libby Dam Visitor Center and Dam Tours will remain closed until further notice. Special Events have been cancelled or rescheduled for the fall. Picnic Shelters also remain closed, with no reservations available for now. Individual picnic tables are still available.
