    When the COVID-19 pandemic required the Memphis District to mass telework, our Project Delivery Teams (PDT) suddenly became virtual teams. With the sudden pivot to virtual teamwork, you might expect a lag in PDT performance. However, despite their lack of experience as a virtual team, the Mellwood Seepage Remediation PDT quickly adjusted to remote teamwork and reached their Contract Award milestone, on May 19, ahead of schedule.

  • Vicksburg District to host Meet the District virtual open house

    VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District will host its inaugural Meet the District Virtual Open House Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon. The event will provide large and small business representatives; university, community college and vocational school administrators; political and community leaders; and members of the public with the opportunity to learn about the district’s mission as well as its career and business opportunities
  • Temporary Road and Park Closures at Lake Sidney Lanier

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District Project Management Office at Lake Sidney Lanier advises the public that Buford Dam Road will be temporarily closed for roadway maintenance at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. It is expected that the work will be completed by 5 p.m. During this time, use Highway 20 as an alternate route.
  • Early drawdown scheduled at Smithville Lake

    SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Smithville Lake announce a two-foot drawdown starting early November in order to safely conduct maintenance repairs on the stilling basin.
