  • First Bipartisan Infrastructure Law project is a story of success for the Walla Walla District

    The Walla Walla District recently completed dredging work at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater rivers near Lewiston, Idaho and downstream of Ice Harbor Dam. This is the first project the district has completed using Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funds.
  • $5.3M BIL-funded revetment project complete ahead of schedule

    A Memphis District Project Delivery Team recently completed a $5.3M Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL)-funded revetment project in Bauxippi-Wyanoke, Arkansas. Work began in November last year when historic low water conditions and tow restrictions delayed much of the river industry’s transportation of goods. Despite these less-than-stellar conditions, the team completed construction ahead of schedule, finishing all work on Dec. 16, 2022.
  • Corps of Engineers moves sand near Winona, Minn.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, and its contractor Beach Transport, Inc., of North Branch, Minnesota, will begin moving dredged material, or river sand, from the Homer Placement Site, south of Winona, Minnesota, this week.
  • Rescue revetment task order awarded

    The Memphis District recently awarded a task order to restore existing revetment and repair over-steepened banks along the Mississippi River in Coahoma County, Mississippi, and Phillips County, Arkansas. A total of $1,344,000 was awarded on the current River Repairs IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity) Contract to Midwest Construction Company.
  • Heartland Corps celebrates ribbon cutting at Gasconade River Office and presents awards

    Col. Bill Hannan, commander of the Kansas City District, presided over a ribbon cutting for a new work facility and presented awards at our Gasconade River Office location, near Hermann, Mo. and later presented awards at our Missouri River Area Office in Napoleon, Mo., Dec. 1, 2020.
  • Vilano Beach receives much needed sand

    Vilano Beach is receiving beach-compatible sand through the beneficial use of dredged material from navigation projects, helping to reduce vulnerabilities and improve coastal resiliency in a community north of the St. Augustine Inlet. A wider beach will help separate storm waves from upland structures and infrastructure.
