WEBVTT 00:00.009 --> 00:02.009 Hey , good morning again . What I'd 00:02.009 --> 00:04.176 like to do is to point out some of the 00:04.176 --> 00:06.398 features that are part of the design of 00:06.398 --> 00:08.398 these track pads that are again are 00:08.398 --> 00:10.509 intended to protect this roadway from 00:10.509 --> 00:12.287 any and all damage that tracked 00:12.287 --> 00:14.342 vehicles that are part of the parade 00:14.342 --> 00:16.565 could cause to the roadways of DC , and 00:16.565 --> 00:18.676 this is pretty standard to what we're 00:18.676 --> 00:20.398 going to put at every location 00:20.398 --> 00:22.565 throughout the parade route . But what 00:22.565 --> 00:24.620 you can see here , obviously there's 00:24.620 --> 00:26.787 the big standard metal plates that are 00:27.059 --> 00:29.100 1 inch thick , you know , these 00:29.100 --> 00:32.770 particular ones are 8 ft by 16 ft , 00:33.099 --> 00:35.099 but there's some varying dimensions 00:35.099 --> 00:37.210 that we'll use . But around those , I 00:37.210 --> 00:39.099 really want to point out that the 00:39.099 --> 00:41.099 asphalt here that we're using for a 00:41.099 --> 00:43.266 couple of purposes . So this asphalt , 00:43.299 --> 00:45.521 I mean it's a little bit soft . It just 00:45.521 --> 00:47.521 got put in last night , but it will 00:47.521 --> 00:49.632 remain soft because one of the things 00:49.632 --> 00:51.743 we want to emphasize is while it . It 00:51.743 --> 00:53.990 helps anchor the plates . It helps 00:53.990 --> 00:56.157 create less of a lip for vehicles that 00:56.157 --> 00:58.268 are moving across the plates , but it 00:58.268 --> 01:00.212 also is temporary . So part of our 01:00.212 --> 01:03.069 contract here is to , when this is done , 01:03.110 --> 01:05.221 is to remove these plates , to remove 01:05.221 --> 01:07.790 the asphalt , and return every place on 01:07.790 --> 01:10.900 the roadway that we put these down back 01:10.900 --> 01:13.459 to exactly what it was before . And so 01:13.709 --> 01:15.820 being able to to take up this asphalt 01:15.820 --> 01:18.709 is something that is part of the 01:18.709 --> 01:20.709 contract that we put in place . The 01:20.709 --> 01:22.820 timing of that , it actually is gonna 01:22.820 --> 01:24.876 is planned to go very , very quickly 01:24.876 --> 01:26.987 because once the parade is complete , 01:26.987 --> 01:29.153 we want to return these roadways fully 01:29.153 --> 01:31.320 to the DC commuters and all those that 01:31.320 --> 01:33.376 use this , use these roads to get to 01:33.376 --> 01:35.542 and from work and to visit our capital 01:35.542 --> 01:37.487 city so . Um , very , very minimal 01:37.487 --> 01:39.889 damage . There are some penetrations to 01:39.889 --> 01:41.833 the pavement . You can see here an 01:41.833 --> 01:44.000 additional anchoring mechanism that we 01:44.000 --> 01:46.056 put in place are these railroad ties 01:46.056 --> 01:48.167 against standard railroad ties that , 01:48.167 --> 01:50.222 you know , go down a few inches into 01:50.222 --> 01:52.278 the pavement . Part of that contract 01:52.278 --> 01:54.500 will also be to repair those holes that 01:54.500 --> 01:56.389 are made by driving them into the 01:56.389 --> 01:58.167 pavement , but all in all , the 01:58.167 --> 02:00.389 railroad ties , the asphalt , some tack 02:00.389 --> 02:02.389 welds throughout the the the plates 02:02.389 --> 02:04.760 themselves is all intended . To provide 02:04.760 --> 02:06.559 this protection , to keep this 02:06.559 --> 02:08.726 protection in place for really what is 02:08.726 --> 02:10.781 a short duration . You know , really 02:10.781 --> 02:12.988 about 10 days that these will be here 02:12.988 --> 02:15.748 on the ground . So that's that's how 02:15.748 --> 02:17.859 these are laid out . You'll see these 02:17.859 --> 02:20.026 in multiple locations along the parade 02:20.026 --> 02:22.429 route , but we hope you don't notice 02:22.429 --> 02:24.651 them as you drive across because that's 02:24.651 --> 02:26.540 really what we're shooting for as 02:26.540 --> 02:28.707 people riding bicycles , driving their 02:28.707 --> 02:31.188 vehicles across these plates . We hope 02:31.188 --> 02:33.355 that there's very little inconvenience 02:33.355 --> 02:34.108 to you as you do that .
