    Annual FUSRAP Report Available Online

    The Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program Update for Fiscal Year 2022 is now available online. This annual report provides information about progress the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is making in cleaning up sites with contamination resulting from the nation’s early atomic energy program.
  • LA District leaders tour Painted Rock Dam project

    Col. Julie Balten, commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District, and David Van Dorpe, deputy district engineer for the LA District, toured the Painted Rock Dam, a flood risk-reduction project, located on the Gila River in Maricopa County March 24 near Gila Bend.

    Corps of Engineers fully engaged in LA Hurricane recovery efforts

    When Hurricane Laura struck Lake Charles, Louisiana, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mississippi Valley Division (MVD) response and recovery teams were already in place to execute the critical mission assignments assigned by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Damages sustained in southwestern Louisiana warrant USACE expertise. Mission assignments range from temporary roofing and emergency power installation to supporting the temporary housing mission and conducting infrastructure assessments and providing debris removal technical assistance to the state.

    In fiscal 2019, the Center executed more than $2 billion in contract actions, pushing the Army Corps of Engineers’ Huntsville-based specialized technical support organization past the $6 billion mark over the last 10 years.
  • Army Corps engages students and promotes STEM Careers

    For most New York City high school students, General Election Day is a day off and a time to take part in other activities. One group of 60 students from various schools in Manhattan used their time wisely on November 7th to learn more about careers in engineering and the sciences and attended the ‘Sixth Annual STEM Matters NYC Career Day’ offered at the New York District.
