  • A career well done

    On January 6, 2023, Mr. Kevin Davee celebrated the culmination of a 33-year career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; 14 of those years devoted to the Fort Worth District. Surrounded by over 30 loved ones, peers, mentees, and well-wishers, Davee enjoyed what would be the last ceremony of his career – his retirement ceremony.

  • USACE to host public scoping meeting for the Proctor Lake Master Plan and Shoreline Management Plan revision

    The Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a public scoping meeting at 4 p.m., January 19, at Comanche County Courthouse - Comanche County Courtroom, 101 W. Central Ave., Comanche, Texas 76442 to provide information and receive public input on the Proctor Lake Draft Master Plan and Shoreline Management Plan revisions and Environmental Assessment.

  • LDP grads on program: Making connections, overcoming obstacles, coming out stronger

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis District invests in employees and develops their leadership skills by utilizing the Leadership Development Program (LDP). LDP graduates are said to benefit from an expanded network of mentors, elevated promotion potential, and a greater understanding of the enterprise and district (to name a few). Having more mentors and a better chance at promotion is nice, but according to the class of 2022, these perks are barely a fraction of what participants can get out of this yearlong program.

  • Fisherman's Access Trail on Shippingport Island to reopen under restricted Special Use

    Effective immediately the Fisherman’s Access Trail (located along the western bank of Shippingport Island within the Falls of The Ohio National Wildlife Conservation Area in Louisville, Kentucky) will reopen, however it will be operated under restricted Special Use. In the interest of public safety, the Fisherman’s Access Trail will be utilized strictly for Special Use with the issuance of a Special Activity Permit.

    Susanne Davis has retired after 42 years of federal service, 35 of them with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District. Coworkers, family, and friends joined in person and online during her retirement ceremony this month to acknowledge her accomplishments and present her with gifts and awards for all her years of service.
