U.S. Army Engineers are gearing up to showcase their support to the nation and the warfighter during the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting, Oct. 14 to 16, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

AUSA events will feature Engineer leaders and experts from inside the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and across the broader Army Engineer Regiment – representing more than 80,000 uniformed personnel assigned to Engineer units across the active Army, National Guard and Army Reserve and the more than 40,000 civilians and Soldiers who comprise USACE.

Army Engineers will highlight one of the most diverse mission sets in the federal government. Engineers enable commanders to maneuver on the battlefield and provide facilities where Soldiers live, work and train; perform research and development that enhances warfighter capabilities at home and abroad and addresses critical national civil works challenges; and support communities as they recover and rebuild in the aftermath of natural disasters. Army Engineers have wide-ranging capabilities that allow them to touch every part of America, every day.

AUSA’s Annual Meeting is the largest land power exposition and professional development forum in North America and includes various military exhibits and presentations involving Army leaders, Soldiers and Department of the Army Civilians, as well as representatives from industry. The event includes panel discussions and seminars on military and national security subjects.

Engineer Hours

Two special panels will bring together senior Army Engineer leaders and commanders who will articulate how USACE and Engineer units are supporting the warfighter and transforming for the future. The presentations will be recorded and posted afterward on www.dvidshub.net and USACE social media platforms.

Engineer Hour 1, “Making a Difference – USACE Support to Army Installations and Soldier Quality of Life,” is scheduled for Oct. 15 at 3 p.m. EDT in Convention Center room 140A #1. A panel of USACE military and civilian senior leaders will discuss how USACE supports Army installation readiness and is partnering with Headquarters, Department of the Army and other commands to optimize the Army's generational investment in barracks and improve Soldier quality of life, including a discussion of legislative initiatives. This presentation seeks to answer the question, “Are we delivering facilities that senior mission commanders need to take care of their Soldiers on installations?”

Engineer Hour 2, “The Engineer Regiment Continuously Transforms to 2040,” is scheduled for Oct. 16 at 10:30 a.m. EDT in Convention Center East Overlook #1. The presentation will focus on Engineer regimental efforts to support and accelerate continuous transformation to include near-term Transformation in Contact, Deliberate Transformation through 2030, Concept-Driven Transformation through 2040, and the USACE Engineer Research and Development Center’s role in facilitating transformation through science and technology.

Engineer Kiosk

The Engineer kiosk, located in the Army Display, will showcase how USACE capabilities contribute to national resilience and global military readiness, to include the response to Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse, Maui wildfire recovery, other disaster response efforts, and projects vital to the nation and warfighter. The kiosk will feature hands-on displays of cutting-edge technologies from across USACE, including USACE’s Engineer Research & Development Center and the Army Geospatial Center.
