VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Office of Small Business Programs was recognized by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) during the 2020 USACE Small Business Awards held virtually Dec. 4, 2020.

The awards acknowledge the many outstanding districts, centers, divisions and individuals that have exemplified a dedication to the utilization of small business. ERDC’s Office of Small Business Programs has oversight responsibility for all aspects of the small business functional area, including policy and procedures, program status, acquisition planning and advocacy/outreach.

During the virtual ceremony, ERDC was honored as a “100 Million Dollar Club Member” and credited for executing 50% of its fiscal year (FY) 20 program dollars to small businesses. The center placed third among other USACE entities in awarding contracts to woman-owned small businesses by percentage as well as with small, disadvantaged businesses by percentage. For contracts to service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses by percentage, the organization placed fourth.

“This achievement is a team effort and demonstrates that the Small Business Program is an integral part of ERDC’s acquisition process,” said Kim Dulaney, manager of ERDC’s Small Business Program. “Moving into FY 21, I hope to continue this trend of having a successful and robust small business program.”

Amanda Campbell, a program analyst with the ERDC’s Information Technology Laboratory, also received an award for the organization when she was recognized with an honorable mention for the Small Business Champion Award.

The ERDC Office of Small Business Programs strives to meet the USACE objective to remain a premier organization in developing small businesses while increasing  opportunities for these businesses to participate in procurements, thereby ensuring a broad base of capable suppliers to support the warfighter and strengthen our nation’s economic development.

The department’s main goal is t maximize the opportunity for small business concerns to participate in the execution of the ERDC’s mission. The organization takes pride in fully supporting the government’s policy of placing a fair proportion of contracts with eligible small, small-disadvantaged, service-disabled veteran-owned, woman-owned and HUBZone business concerns.
