Combined Operational Plan (COP) Study Area Map

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District announces an additional public meeting in the Florida Keys, as well as the public meetings in West Palm Beach and Cutler Bay, for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Combined Operational Plan (COP). Public comments are due March 16.

The purpose of the COP is to define operations for the constructed features of the Modified Water Deliveries to Everglades National Park and Canal 111 South Dade Projects, while maintaining the congressionally authorized purposes of the Central and Southern Florida (C&SF) Project, to include flood control; water supply for agricultural irrigation, municipalities and industry; regional groundwater control and prevention of saltwater intrusion; enhancement of fish and wildlife; and recreation. The proposed action within the Draft EIS would occur within the Everglades of southeastern Florida in Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.

The public is invited to public meetings on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Combined Operational Plan (COP):

Information on the public meetings and how to provide public comment are also available at the same location (note: large files may take a few minutes to download).

Please submit public comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Combined Operational Plan (COP) to Melissa.A.Nasuti@usace.army.mil by March 16, 2020. All comments should include “COP Draft EIS Comments” in the subject line.
