Captain Rex Broderick, Seattle District, Northwestern Division, was recognized as the Wounded Warrior Support Award
by the Chief of Engineers, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters.
Capt. Broderick is a Project Engineer (PE) in the Operations Division. As the Operation War Fighter Coordinator (OWF) for Seattle District, Capt. Broderick has developed an extremely effective program that integrates Soldiers into the technical engineering organization and has built lasting relationships with supporting agencies, such as Joint Base Lewis-McChord. In the year leading up to this award, he attended 10 job fairs, coordinated two Seattle District training events, and personally engaged with each of the various internal Divisions at the district to help ensure that potential candidates are identified and applied to the right position.
Cpt. Broderick has done an exceptional job leading the Operation War Fighter program. Through his leadership and dedication, he has almost doubled the Seattle Districts Operation War Fighter personnel, and has shared resumes with other agencies and Corps of Engineers Districts. Additionally, as a result of these valuable and technical transitional opportunities, two OWF Soldiers were immediately employed by the Red Cross and our own environmental branch. Rex's contributions are in keeping with the highest traditions of the U.S. Army Corps Engineers and reflect great credit upon himself, the Seattle District, Northwestern Division, the Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Army.
