249th Engineer Battalion Command Sergeant Major

CSM Alexander is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana. She began her career in the U.S. Army on 15 October 1996 as a Geospatial Engineer. She completed Basic Combat Training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. 

CSM Alexander has served as a Topographic Analyst, Terrain Analyst Sergeant, Squad Leader, Detachment NCOIC, Senior Topographic Analyst, Platoon Sergeant, Drill Sergeant, Senior Drill Sergeant, Targeteer, Equal Opportunity Advisor, Equal Opportunity Instructor / Facilitator at DEOMI (Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute), and a Senior Geospatial Operations Sergeant during her career.

CSM Alexander has served with Alpha Company, I Corps, JBLM (Joint Base Lewis-McChord), HSC, XVIII Airborne Corps, 541st Engineer Detachment (82nd Airborne Division), the 82nd Replacement Detachment, Fort Bragg, N.C., Echo Company,169th Engineer Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., DEOMI, Patrick AFB, and CC AIR NATO NORTH, Izmir, Turkey. She has also deployed as a Senior Geospatial Engineer with ARCENT, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).

CSM Alexander’s military education includes Basic Airborne School, Basic Leaders Course (BLC), Advanced Leaders Course (ALC), Senior Leaders Course (SLC), Combat Lifesavers Course, NBC Defense Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course (UPL), Equal Opportunity Leaders Course (EOLC) Physical Security Course, Support Operations Course, USAP Retention NCO Course, Supervisor Development Course, Management Development Course, USAR Training Management Course (TMC), Drill Sergeant School, Equal Opportunity Advisors Course (EOAC), Army Basic Instructor Training Course (ABIC), Sigma Lean Course (Green Belt), Sigma Lean Course (Black Belt), Master Resiliency Course (MRT), Battle Staff Course, the United States Sergeant Majors Academy Course (USASMA) Class 66, in which she graduated in the top twenty percent of her class, Battalion Pre-Command Course (PCC), Engineer PCC, and the Command Sergeant Major Development Course (CSMD). CSM Alexander’s civilian education includes an Associate of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Campbell University (Magna Cum Laude). Presently, she is currently enrolled in a Masters in Professional Counseling in Psychology from American Military University.

CSM Alexander’s awards and decorations include, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2), the Meritorious Service Medal (3), the Army Commendation Medal (2), the Army Achievement Medal (1), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal  (6), the National Defense Service Ribbon (2), the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (5), the Army Service Ribbon, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (GWTEM) the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal (GWTSM), the Overseas Service Ribbon (2), the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, the Drivers Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Canadian Parachutist Badge.  She has also been recognized as the 2012 United States Army recipient of both the Science Technology Engineer Mathematics (STEM), and the Federally Employed Women (FEW) awards.
