Requests, Interpretations, Variances, Waivers must be coordinated with the local District Safety and Occupational Health Offices per the EM 385-1-1 Appendix C & D, Safety and Occupational Health Manual. District/Division can be found at https://www.usace.army.mil/Locations/

RFI – Request for Information (USACE personnel can ask the HQ Safety Office for any information/comment/question they want)

Interpretation (USACE personnel request HQ Safety to interpret/give meaning of a safety regulation and/or standard)

Variance (USACE personnel request HQ Safety to approve or deny a request to modify a safety regulations and/or standards)

Waiver (USACE personnel request HQ Safety to approve or deny a request to not follow/substitute a safety regulations and/or standards)
