  • Corps to host Industry Day for upcoming Malmstrom AFB project

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, officials are hosting an Industry Day April 23, to provide preliminary information about an upcoming requirement for a large construction project at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana, to construct a new weapons storage and maintenance facility.
  • Corps awards contract for levee repairs along Feather River West Levee

    Repairs will soon be underway for nearly five miles of critically deficient Feather River west levee between Tudor Road and Cypress Avenue in south Sutter County. In late February, the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) issued a $35 million contract to Great Lakes E&I for its Sutter Basin Project, which involves the installation of cutoff walls as deep as 140 feet into the existing levee.

    The National Nuclear Security Administration employs hundreds of employees in Albuquerque, scattered across Kirtland Air Force Base, in 20 different buildings. As far back as 1979, the Department of Energy began planning for one large building that would consolidate all NNSA staff into a single, state-of-the-art facility. But it wasn't until 2015 when the NNSA obtained funding for the design of a new facility, otherwise known as the NNSA Albuquerque Complex Project, or “NACP.”

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 1, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is actively lowering Center Hill Lake to construct the lower portion of a two-lane boat ramp at Eisenhower “Ike” Park in Lancaster, Tenn. The Corps is restoring the recreation area located upstream from Center Hill Dam that it closed in 2008 due to the dam safety rehabilitation project.
  • FY2019 work plan adds $53.5 million to Sacramento District projects

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers delivered to Congress its Fiscal Year 2019 work plan for the Army Civil Works program on Nov. 20, funding an additional $53.5 million to a handful of Sacramento District projects.
  • Project team for the KC-46A facility at McConnell Air Force base wins Air Force award for excellence

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The project team responsible for the design, construction and quality control of new hangar / maintenance facilities for the recently fielded KC-46A Pegasus air tanker won top honors from AFCEC – the Air Force Civil Engineering Center. The team, including Ben Davis, the Kansas City District project manager, was recognized at a ceremony in San Antonio November 14, 2018.
  • Upcoming levee improvement work will force Garden Highway closure at Interstate 5 overpass

    Beginning as soon as late December, a section of Garden Highway will be closed to traffic for up to three weeks in order to improve a section of levee as part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ flood risk reduction project in the Natomas Basin.
